Adoption Fees

Why Do Rescues Have Adoption Fees?

Along with daily care costs, the adoption fees help Bullies 2 The Rescue cover vaccination and medical prep costs for the pets.

Adoption Fees:

Let’s Talk About Adoption Fees!

Adoption fees for our dogs are typically between $600 to $800, though some may be lower or higher depending on the dog’s age, health, and specific medical needs.

Some people think our adoption fees are too high—but the truth is, that fee only covers a fraction of the cost of a dog’s veterinarian care while in rescue.

Even routine vetting, spay/neuter, and basic medical treatment can cost $1,200 or MORE per dog. And most of our dogs need far more—surgeries, heartworm treatment, dental work. Frenchies with IVDD? That surgery alone is $8,000–$10,000. **We don’t adjust adoption fees based on how much we spend to get a dog healthy**
The rest is covered by donations and when needed, by our founder personally.

Adoption fees help—but they don’t come close to covering what it takes to save these dogs and we certainly do not ‘make money’ from it.
Thank you for supporting Bullies2therescue!
