From the time she could walk, Courtney Vaux has been rescuing animals, lending a helping hand to any creature in need, and building a life rooted deeply in compassion. What began as a childhood passion grew into a lifelong calling—one that has shaped every aspect of her work and her place in the animal community.
Courtney has spent much of her life working in veterinary practices, gaining hands-on experience and a profound understanding of animal care, health, and behavior. Her connection to the veterinary and rescue world runs generations deep, and her commitment to advocating for animals has only strengthened over the years.
Driven by her heart for the underdog—especially the wrinkly, stubborn, lovable English Bulldog—Courtney founded Bullies 2 the Rescue, which has since grown into one of the most respected bulldog rescue organizations in the region. Under her leadership, the rescue has saved hundreds of dogs, built a trusted network of foster families, and created a community united by a shared love for the breed.
Her dedication didn’t stop there. Courtney also founded:
Meat and Tater’s Wiggle Ranch – a sanctuary and safe haven built with comfort, enrichment, and bulldog joy in mind.
Carolina Pet Pantry – providing high-quality nutrition, products, and guidance to pet owners who want the best for their companions.
The Swagger Salon – a grooming and care hub focused on helping pets look, feel, and live their best.
Whether she's coordinating a complex rescue case, supporting foster families, or turning her businesses into meaningful resources for pet owners, Courtney brings the same unwavering compassion and determination to everything she does. She is deeply woven into the animal community—trusted, respected, and always ready to help.
At her core, Courtney believes that every animal deserves love, dignity, and a chance at a better life. Her mission is simple: help as many as possible, for as long as possible.
